The next quarterly meeting of the Gold Country Broadband Consortium is taking place in Grass Valley at the Nevada Union High School (11761 Ridge Road) cafeteria / multi-purpose room on Sat Sept 22 from 1-4pm. This event is being presented by the Nevada County Broadband Advisory Group, a committee composed of representatives from City/County government, education, businesses, neighborhood associations, and Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
The event will kick-off at 1pm with panel discussions followed by an open Q&A session with those in attendance. Local and regional Internet Service Providers will have information booths set-up, so it will be easy for the community to find out about all the ways available to access the Internet primarily in Nevada County. ISPs that provide service in the other four counties of the Consortium — Sierra, Placer, El Dorado, and Alpine counties — may also be in attendance.
Curtis Smith, Director of Technology and Information for the Nevada Joint Union High School District, and his team will be showcasing the technology of the venue plus their current 1 Gigabit per second access speed.
