Googles response was devoid of specifics, hoping to satisfy interested parties with a gloss-over reference to regulatory hurdles and leaving the rest to our imagination.

Good policy starts with good analysis, which in turns comes from a discovery process. Google and other companies have found CA an unfriendly state and the state continues to hemorrage jobs and entire corporate headquaters to states like Texas which has discovered they can become a beacon of creativity and business development for the likes of HP. Taxes are just one cost factor businesses must consider; complying with regulation is another factor, and it's just possible that we have allowed an overzealous enthusiasm to protect the public from themselves that it ulitmately will cost the state it's most precious commodity - the people that make this state what it is.

The customer is always right, wrong...

If you like being treated like a second class citizen/ customer, ATT is the provider for you.

If you only desire to speak to automated telephone support, ATT is the provider for you.

If you enjoy the inablility to settle any sort of dispute whatsoever, ATT is the provider for you.

If you're enamored by offensive and threatening business letters, ATT is the provider for you.

God forbid you should decide to upgrade your services with them because they'll continue charging you for both the old services and new ones.

After 6 prision-like years of services (if you know what i mean), I'm sending it all back. Good riddance.

ATT, this is my last act as a paying customer, and it's only befitting that I let everyone know how wonderful you are!

Regards,

Hope ATT fires you Dimitrious from Sales, Service and Billing (phone click)

Interesting, and somewhat understandable - if they are looking for a demonstration project, they want to move quickly. It would have been nice, however, if they had made it clear that CA would not be considered so people didn't waste their time!

Reading up on the Greenhorn DSL service I see that there was one household was asked if to have a remote terminal on their property and were asked to sign an AT&T contract that would hold the property owner responsable for any damage to the equipment. Now damage can come from many places as we have all seen from these last winter storms. Is AT&T asking them to be responsible for all that or just malicious damage, just what? Seams as though this whole project has had one problem after another. Meanwhile we all sit out here and suffer through this horrable dialup service. Seems as though AT&T could come up with solutions to any of these problems. Come on AT&T , you have smart people, solve the problems.

LOL. I just upgraded to 4.97 mbps (based on speed reading) at home. Still struggle to upload movies from my Mac to Apple TV box on the other side of the house. Much worse, though, is the weak wireless in downtown. Perhaps it's AT&T!
